What's New For 2023?
Not only is the Ascent the largest model in the Subaru lineup, it's also the newest vehicle, at least until the brand's first-ever electric vehicle makes its debut. With that in mind and seeing that the 2023 Ascent is only this SUV's fifth model year, nothing major has changed yet. Still, the 2023 Ascent gets some minor restyling, particularly up front and in the back on the outside. The tablet-style 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen is now standard across all levels, instead of being an option reserved for higher trims. Finally, some of the Subaru EyeSight safety technology, particularly those features found in the higher trims, has been revamped and upgraded.
Performance and Technology
Under its hood is a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder, which produces 260 horsepower with 277 pound-feet of torque for your new 2023 Subaru Ascent. Where the Ascent, like with most other models in our lineup, really shines is with the standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, which delivers high-end traction and control. While we're spared from tough wintery driving conditions here in the San Diego and Carlsbad areas, this setup allows you to take your Ascent off the beaten path or for long road trips through locales that see plenty of snow and ice in the colder months. The Ascent also starts you off with a 2,000-pound tow rating, which can be bumped up to a max 5,000 pounds in the proper setup, giving you greater cargo versatility during your travels around San Marcos, Oceanside, and beyond.
